Chan’s film career took off again after leaving the construction job and heading back to Hong Kong after film producer Willie Chan called him due to his impressive stunt work. He appeared in many low budget martial arts films in the 1970s such as Yi Zhao ban shi Chuang Jiang hu (1978), Magnificent Bodyguards (1978), among others and they all fared well at the cinemas.
