Take a Screenshot on your Android Phone Using Standard Method
To capture a screenshot normally pressing the two buttons simultaneously on your Android phone:
- First, open the screen that you wish to capture
- Depending on your Android phone:
- Press and hold the Power key and Volume down key simultaneously for a few seconds
- In case that does not work, press and hold the Power key for a few. Then tap on the Screenshot.
- You will find a preview of your screenshot image at the bottom left. But on some devices, at the top of the screen, you will find Screenshot capture.
Note: If neither of these steps works, visit your phone manufacturer’s support website for help.
Once the right key combo is pressed, your phone’s screen will flash, usually accompanied by a camera shutter sound. In some cases, a pop-up notification or message alert appears, recommending that the screenshot has been made.

Take a screenshot with Google Assistant
Lastly, any Android phone that comes with Google Assistant will allow you to take screenshots using voice commands alone. Simply open Goole Assistant and just say “Okay, Google, and then “take a screenshot”.

Android phone manufacturers often include unique and extra ways of capturing Android screenshots. For example, you can capture a screenshot on the Galaxy Notes series devices using the S Pen. How to Take Screenshots on Every Android Phone
Most of the Android devices need a quick press, while others you will need to press and hold the volume down and powers keys in for a couple of seconds.
Asus phones
Press and hold down the power and volume-down keys for a few seconds
Pull down the notification panel to access the quick settings and select the Screenshot icon
Acer phones
Press and hold down the power and volume-down keys for few seconds
Pull down the notification panel to access and use quick settings and press the Screenshots icon
Google phones
Pixels: Press and hold down the power and volume-down keys for a few seconds
Nexus: Press and hold down the power and volume -down keys for a few seconds
Huawei and Honor phones

Pull down the notification panel, switch to Shortcuts, and press the Screenshot icon
HTC phones
HTC U12+: Hold down the power button until your device vibrates, and then press the virtual home option on the navigation bar while still pressing the power button
HTC U series (up to U12+: Press and hold down the power key and volume-down key for a few seconds
HTC 10: Press and hold down the home button and power button Or press and hold down the power key and volume-down key for few seconds

Edge Sence in HTC phones: If the phones support Edge sense then you will be able to take a screenshot by using that. Visit into the Settings to change what long or short squeezing the phone does by going to Settings, select the Edge Sense, now tap on the Set short squeeze or set squeeze & hold action.
Lenovo Phones
Press and Hold down the power key and volume-down key for few seconds.
Pull down the notification panel and tap on the ScreenShot icon.
LG phones
LG G7: Hold down the power button and volume-down key for a few seconds.
All other LG phones: Press and Hold down the power (you can find on the back of the phone) and volume-down keys for a few seconds.
Swipe down the notification panel and select the Capture+ icon.

Quick Memo
You can also capture a screenshot with Quick Memo, which can immediately be taken and allow you to create doodles on your screenshots images.
From the notification shade just toggle Quick Memo. Once turned on, the editing page will then appear. You can now write doodles and notes on the present screen. Tap on the floppy disk icon to keep save your work.
Air Motion
Air Motion is another option to use. This option works with the LG Velvet, LG G8 ThinQ, LG V60 ThinQ, and other phone devices. It involves using the built-in ToF (time-of-flight) camera to recognize air gestures. Simply wave your hand over the phone until you view the icon showing that it has recognized the gesture. Then pinch the air by bringing your fingertips together, and then pulling them apart again.

Another method to capture screenshots on your older Android devices like the LG G8 is to pull down the notification bar and then select the Capture + icon. Using Bixby Digital Assistant
You have the pre-installed Bixby digital assistant. To take a screenshot use your voice commands. simply say “Hey Bixby.” and just say “Take a Screenshot” and it will do so. Anywhere on your screen if you properly configure the app. You can view the saved screenshots in your device’s Gallery app.
S Pen
